Respiratory support during the day

Ventilator care

Children who use a ventilator need care that accounts for their breathing support and other medical needs. Ventilator management and respiratory monitoring are part of our services, guided by the child's prescribed care plan.

Tracheostomy care

Tracheostomy care can include airway monitoring, suctioning and other nursing support the child needs. The care plan guides which services are provided and how they fit into the day.

Oxygen and respiratory treatments

Our services include oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments. These treatments follow the child's medical orders; the type of support needed differs from one child to another.

Airway care and monitoring

Respiratory assessments, airway clearance and pulmonary monitoring help the team follow the child's respiratory needs. Chest physiotherapy may also be included when it is part of the prescribed plan.

Care that follows your child's needs

Your child's respiratory care may be one part of a more involved daily routine. Medication, feeding support and other nursing needs also matter. Our team can discuss how these services fit together during a day at the center.

Little Stars Pediatric Center offers care coordination with physicians and specialists, along with caregiver education. Families can bring questions about respiratory equipment and daily care to the team and discuss guidance that fits their child's plan.

Finding the right daytime support

Little Stars Pediatric Center is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC/PPECC) center. We provide nursing care during the day for children with complex medical needs. This is a daytime care setting, not a hospital or an overnight program.

A tracheostomy or ventilator does not tell us everything about a child's care needs. Contact our team to discuss your child's current support, medical needs and the center you are considering. Learn about admission.
